My wife’s parents own this incredible beach house out in Malibu. They’re often traveling so we get to use it a lot. Two summers ago we even got to stay there for the entire summer. It was such a great time that we decided that we were going to save up and buy a beach house too. But in the mean time we could use this one as much as we want. I just love getting there and cracking open a beer and sitting in an Adirondack chair as I take in the incredible view. There’s really nothing that compares to going to sleep and waking up right near the ocean. I just wish that it didn’t cost so much to buy property here.
But I’ve never understood why her parents don’t like spending time there. They get out there as much as possible, but my wife’s father really likes working. He doesn’t want to retire and likes to keep busy. This is of course good for me because I really like using his house. He once even tried to get me into his line of work, but I couldn’t handle the stress. He works in finance but I don’t have a head for numbers.
